1915 Holiday Open House

Saturday and Sunday, December 6-7 and 13-14, 11:00 to 4:00

December is months away, but at The Farms we are already thinking about gingerbread cookies and Christmas carols.  Our 1915 Holiday Open House, taking place over two weekends, both Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6-7 and 13-14, brings to life Christmas traditions familiar to the Stickley family in the early 1900s.  While walking through the house, visitors will be able to imagine themselves as holiday guests of the Stickley family.  Live music, children’s craft activities, and seasonal refreshments will be featured against a backdrop of beautiful period decorations from pinecone garlands and poinsettias to vintage Christmas postcards. Saturdays will feature visits from an honored guest, “Mrs. Claus,” who, along with spreading good cheer, will talk about her history and holiday traditions of times past. Calendars are often packed with activities during the holidays, but be sure to leave space in yours for a visit to The Farms and our unhurried, old-fashioned celebration.
