Textile artist Dianne Ayres is just one of the artists whose works will be featured in our upcoming trunk show.
The workshop of Dianne Ayres began in 1988 to create textiles in the Arts & Crafts style for the home, including draperies, window curtains, bedspreads, pillows & table runners. Dianne’s workshop uses traditional techniques to make reproductions of period designs and their own Arts & Crafts inspired designs.
She also executes designs for other artists and architects as custom textiles. Dianne and her husband, Timothy Hansen, also collect the linens and the literature of the period, lecture, research and write on textiles and interiors.
Watch this space to learn more about the artists involved in the Stickley Museum’s Holiday Trunk Show!

Sure. We have a policy not to give out email addresses to strangers, but we’ve emailed Dainne on your behalf and asked her to get in touch with you. Let us know if you don’t hear back from her in a day or two.
I am greatly enamored of the actual textile illustrated on the cover of the book AMERICAN ARTS & CRAFTS TEXTILES, of which Dianne Ayres was one of the authors. My question is, did she design that? Where can I obtain yardage of it?
I’ve been searching for this design and have final narrowed it down to the book. Thank you!

We have reached out to Dianne on your behalf. She may be able to help you find something similar. The inside of the cover of the book indicates its origin is unknown. It says:
“Anonymous Fruit Table Linen in Appliqué and Spachtel Embroidery, c. 1908. Cotton with hand embroidery in buttonhole and stem stitch. 17 x 51″ Collection of Timothy Hansen and Dianne Ayres.” Please let us know if you need further help. Best regards.
Hi Barbara & Heather, my apologies for the delay – it has been a busy holiday season! As Heather notes, the textile on the cover of our book is vintage as are all of the textiles shown in the book except for the plain linen scrim curtains in the image on page 111.
While the book is primarily a reference on antique Arts & Crafts textiles, I am happy that it has inspired you to search for contemporary textiles as well. I don’t know of any source for yardage which is similar to the table linen but our workshop could possibly produce something to meet your needs.
