Description
Relatively little is known about the chronology and production of Stickley's willow furniture and–as virtually all pieces are unmarked–attributions of forms not cataloged is a perilous, often unconvincing endeavor. This bassinet, however, descended in the family and according to tradition was made for Stickley's daughter Ruth. It is likely the one recorded in the 1917 inventory of the Log House as "1 Baby's Bassinet" that was part of a group of furniture belonging to Mr. and Mrs. George E. Creuss that was present but not included in the sale.
