Description
Although the design is essentially identical to the motif found on the portieres, this pattern was not a standard offering that appeared in Stickley's catalogs. It did, however, appear in the April 1910 issue of The Craftsman as "Appliqué design for Craftsman Linen Curtain: No. 1." Describing the room in the 1911 issue of the magazine, Natalie Curtis gave the only indication of color we have: "The light is softened to a mellow glow by the casement curtains of burnt orange with a border worked in appliqué."
