David Howell – Art Nouveau Peacock Pin
A belt buckle designed in 1898 by the Art Nouveau Belgian jeweler Phillippe Wolfer inspired this silver plated peacock pin set with sodalite stone. Art Nouveau is characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic line. It was a deliberate attempt to create a new style, free of the imitative historicism that dominated much of 19th-century art and design.
Solid brass, electro-plated with non-tarnishing silver finish, sodalite stone. Approx. 1.75″ W x 1.75″ L (Gift Boxed with Provenance Card).
