Copper Banner – “A world of strife shut out, and a world of love shut in”

“A world of strife shut out and a world of love shut in.”

On one of five fireplace hoods Gustav Stickley created for the Log House in 1911, this verse from poet Dora Greenwell — executed in repousse on the central panel of the primary bedroom hood — shows a sweet and sentimental side of Stickley often hidden in his writings. It stands as a reminder of the value of the home and importance of family life to the Arts and Crafts movement.

Our exclusive collaboration with Cobre, this 11.5 x 19.5″ banner in reclaimed copper is a custom-made, hand-hammered replica of the original primary bedroom fireplace hood panel. Comes with attached copper hanging hooks.

Cobre produces beautifully crafted, hand-hammered copper accents, sustainably produced with reclaimed copper and fairly traded since 1994.
