Motawi’s 4 x 8″ Skylight art tile is based on one of a pair of art glass skylights at the entrance to Frank Lloyd Wright’s (1867–1959) octagonal studio at Oak Park. The autumnal colors of the glass skylights transform the interior light as the seasons change, which made a dramatic first impression on Wright’s clients and visitors.

This 4 × 8″ tile is finished in a Dard Hunter Studios Oak Park frame made of quartersawn oak. Dard Hunter Studios was founded by early Roycrofter Dard Hunter and is currently run by his grandson, Dard Hunter III. Its finished size is 9 1/2 x 11 1/4″.
