Erika Hewston – Handwoven Fiber Print – Framed

$165.00

This mixed fiber print features a handwoven remnant from a larger textile that has been mounted on 7.5 x 9.5 inch print and framed in a handcrafted quartersawn white oak frame by Dard Hunter of Dard Hunter Studios. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist.

Local textile artist Erika Hewston creates richly colored handwoven wearables on her loom. Her practice centers on the exploration of gradients through soft, seamless transitions of hue that speak to nuance, transformation, and emotional depth. Whether bold or subtle, these color shifts serve as the connective tissue in her work, drawing the eye across surface and structure, evoking movement and continuity.

Run by Dard Hunter III, the grandson of Arts and Crafts designer and artist William Joseph “Dard” Hunter, Dard Hunter Studios in Chillicothe, Ohio uses only the finest materials to create frames that stand the test of time. The Signature Finish on these custom frames is a four-step process, the final of which is a hand-rubbed wax, just like was found on Stickley furniture. This gives the frame the patina of an heirloom that will withstand sunlight and wear and provide beauty and enjoyment for years to come.
