Motawi’s 4×8″ Sunflower is based on an earlier handpainted tile created by English artist William De Morgan (1839–1917).

This tile is finished in a Dard Hunter Studios Oak Park frame made of quartersawn oak. Dard Hunter Studios was founded by early Roycrofter Dard Hunter and is currently run by his grandson, Dard Hunter III.

Every Motawi tile is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
