In this exciting workshop, participants will learn the art of broom making using broomcorn (sorghum wheat) to create both a hand broom and a pot scrubber. This class is perfect for everyone, from complete beginners to those with some experience.

Our knowledgeable instructor will lead you through the entire process, sharing tips and techniques to help you craft a functional and beautiful broom.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Carrie LaDuke is an avid crafter and artist with 25+ years experience based in Sparta, New Jersey. She enjoys working with natural materials and combining disciplines. In addition to basket weaving, her other passions include wood-burning (pyrography) and broom-making. Her work has been accepted to several juried events at Peters Valley and beyond. She also teaches workshops at Peters Valley, Princeton University Creativity Labs and Sussex County Art & Heritage Council.
